Homemade Spaghetti O’s with Liverwurst Mini Meatballs Recipe

Spaghetti O's with Liverwurst Meatballs

For this pasta recipe, Amy suggests your favorite gluten-free noodle, preferably with only a few simple ingredients. The mini meatballs and pasta sauce are full of flavor and nutrients with US Wellness Favorites: 100% grass-fed ground beef, honey, and… liverwurst! This hidden ingredient packs nutrition into this recipe. US Wellness Liverwurst contains heart, kidney, and liver. Spaghetti O’s with Liverwurst Mini Meatballs

USWM Shopping List: (1) Liverwurst, (2) Ground Beef, Honey

Ingredients:

Meatballs

  • ½ roll of Liverwurst
  • 2 pounds Grass-Fed Ground Beef
  • 2 Tbsp Italian Seasoning, dried
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp celtic sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese (can swap Nutritional Yeast)

Sauce

  • 2, 32 oz. cans whole tomatoes (with juice)
  • ½ cup coconut milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 4 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese (can swap Nutritional Yeast)

Spaghetti

  • 2 cups cooked pasta (look for small fun shapes or use your favorite brand, gluten-free works well here, just prepare them al dente)

 

Instructions: 

Meatballs

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the liverwurst and ground beef well with your hands.
  3. Add in the spices and parmesan and mix well. Form very small (about the size of the tip of your thumb) meatballs by rolling the meat in your hands. Place on the parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. 

Sauce 

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and process to combine well. 

Combine

  1. Add the sauce and meatballs to a large pot and bring to a low simmer for about 1 hour.
  2. Next, fold in the pasta and serve immediately. Alternatively, prepare this recipe on the weekend and reheat it for a lunchbox thermos’ during the week.
